All accidents, including minor injuries and all hazardous conditions are to be reported immediately to the theatre staff member on duty. All problems encountered with technical equipment must also be reported to a theatre staff member.
Crew Members
- Horseplay of any kind is strictly forbidden. When you are present for prep or running crew times, you are here to work. Crew members engaging in horseplay will be asked to leave for the remainder of the work period.
- Whether working under contract, or working prep days, be punctual. School lets out at 3:00pm and TEC begins at 3:15pm. If you are going to be late due to an academic reason, please call Mr. Black's cell phone to join the crew where work is being done. If under contract, absences/tardies must be approved ahead of time according to the terms of the contract. Excessive absences or tardies may result in dismissal from the event.
- Cell phones, personal computers, and other communication devices must not be used while working. If you must make or receive a call, notify a theatre staff member, leave the work area, and return when you are finished.
- Full shoes (no sandals) must be worn at all times. Shorts are not recommended, but are allowed.
- Jewelry, ties and clothing which, in the opinion of the theatre staff, is hazardous must not be worn while working with tools in the scene shop, on ladders, in catwalks, or in other work areas. Medallions or jewelry hanging from the neck are never to be worn.
- Do not leave valuables in the theatres. You will be provided with a secure location to put your belongings during work time (or you can use your school-provided locker).
- The dress code for ALL events is your CREW t-shirt. If working "onstage" for an event, you must also wear black pants and shoes.
Theatre/Production Facilities
- Good housekeeping and clean and orderly work areas and equipment are fundamental to accident prevention. Assigned work areas and equipment are to be cleaned and placed in order by each user at the end of each work period. The last 10-minutes of every prep day or crew contract day will be dedicated to tidying up work areas.
- Crew members should only be in work areas when a member of the theatre staff is on duty. There must be at least two individuals present at all times when working.
Production Equipment
- You are not to operate technical equipment for which you have not been assigned or instructed on.
- When on a running crew for an event, all rules and expectations for Intercom Etiquette must be followed.
